Mouse Apoptosis regulator BAX (Bax) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Apoptosis regulator BAX (Bax), a pro-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family that accelerates programmed cell death by antagonising BCL2 or its adenovirus homolog E1B 19k protein. Under stress conditions, the protein undergoes a conformation change that causes translocation to the mitochondrion membrane, leading to the release of cytochrome c and activation of CASP3. The colorimetric assay is reactive with mouse samples and is intended for research use only, particularly within Neuroscience research.

Validated sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. Specificity covers natural and recombinant mouse Apoptosis regulator BAX (UniProt Q07813). The assay has a reported detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 15.6pg/mL. Reported precision values are an Intra CV of 6.6% and an Inter CV of 9.7%.

Linearity was evaluated at dilution factors of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (N=5): serum 88-100%, 93-103%, 97-107%, 92-104%; EDTA plasma 107-115%, 106-115%, 87-96%, 100-113%; heparin plasma 101-111%, 80-89%, 98-108%, 101-111%. Mean recovery is 103% (range 97-109%) for serum and 105% (range 99-111%) for plasma.
