It is intended for research use only and detects natural and recombinant mouse Apoc1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with reactivity confirmed in mouse samples.

Performance specifications include a detection range of 3.12-200ng/mL and a sensitivity of 1.57ng/mL. Precision is supported by an intra-assay CV of 7.9% and an inter-assay CV of 10.1%. Linearity has been validated across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilution ratios of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with recovery averaging 101% for serum (range 95-107%) and 103% for plasma (range 97-109%).

Apolipoprotein C-I is a secreted protein that functions as an inhibitor of lipoprotein binding to the low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor, LDL receptor-related protein and very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) receptor. It associates with high density lipoproteins (HDL) and triacylglycerol-rich lipoproteins in plasma, and is described as the major plasma inhibitor of cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP).
