Description

Designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Antithrombin-III (Serpinc1) in biological samples, this Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie uses a colorimetric detection method. The kit targets the Antithrombin-III protein, also known by the synonyms Serpin C1, ATIII, and At3, and is reactive with mouse samples. Recommended sample types include serum and plasma, along with tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The assay is specific to natural and recombinant mouse Antithrombin-III.

Quantitative performance is supported by a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL. Precision is reported at an intra-assay CV of 6.2% and an inter-assay CV of 8.9%. Reported linearity in serum spans 81-123%, in EDTA plasma spans 84-117%, and in heparin plasma spans 85-112% across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 (n=5). Average recovery is 84% (range 80-90%) for serum and 86% (range 80-92%) for plasma. The product is intended for research use only.

Antithrombin-III (SERPINC1) is the most important serine protease inhibitor in plasma, where it regulates the blood coagulation cascade by inhibiting thrombin, matriptase-3/TMPRSS7, and factors IXa, Xa, and XIa, with inhibitory activity greatly enhanced in the presence of heparin. The secreted protein localises to the extracellular space, has a reported molecular weight of 52,004 Da, and is referenced under UniProt accession P32261 with NCBI Gene ID 11905. Defects in SERPINC1 are the cause of antithrombin III deficiency (AT3D), an important risk factor for hereditary thrombophilia, a hemostatic disorder characterised by a tendency to recurrent thrombosis.
