Mouse Ankyrin-2 (Ank2) ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Ankyrin-2 (Ank2), this Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie provides a colorimetric detection method and is intended for research use only. Reactive with mouse samples, the kit recognises both natural and recombinant mouse Ankyrin-2 and is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Ankyrin-2, also known as Ankyrin-B, Brain ankyrin, ANK-2 or AnkB, plays an essential role in the localisation and membrane stabilisation of ion transporters and ion channels in several cell types, including cardiomyocytes and striated muscle cells. The protein attaches integral membrane proteins to cytoskeletal elements and is required for the coordinate assembly of Na/Ca exchanger, Na/K ATPase and InsP3 receptor at sarcoplasmic reticulum sites in cardiomyocytes, as well as for the coordinated expression of the Na/K ATPase, Na/Ca exchanger and beta-2-spectrin in the inner segment of rod photoreceptors. Ankyrin-2 is also involved in endocytosis, intracellular protein transport, and the polarised recycling of fibronectin receptor during directional cell migration.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the assay has a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.088 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and recovery data are provided with the kit.
