Mouse Alpha-defensin 5 (Defa5) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is intended for the quantitative measurement of Mouse Alpha-defensin 5 (Defa5), with reactivity limited to mouse samples. The kit accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and uses a colorimetric detection method. According to the manufacturer, the assay has a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.089ng/mL.

Reported performance data include an intra-assay CV of 6.0% and an inter-assay CV of 10.1%. Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2 to 1:16. Reported ranges spanned 94-118% for serum, 94-112% for EDTA plasma and 93-125% for heparin plasma. Mean recovery is 108% (range 102-114%) for serum and 110% (range 104-116%) for plasma. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Alpha-defensin 5 and is for research use only.

Defa5 is a secreted protein that probably contributes to the antimicrobial barrier function of the small bowel mucosa, with a UniProt entry of P28312 and a molecular weight of 10,519 Da.
