Mouse Alpha-defensin 1 (Defa1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA for the quantitative measurement of alpha-defensin 1 in mouse samples. Manufactured by Assay Genie, the kit detects natural and recombinant mouse alpha-defensin 1 and is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The target is a secreted antimicrobial peptide that probably contributes to the antimicrobial barrier function of the small bowel mucosa and has reported antibacterial activity against attenuated mutants of S. typhimurium.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.0% and inter-assay CV is 8.7%. Spike-and-recovery values are 98% (92–104%) for serum and 100% (94–106%) for plasma, with linearity verified across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions for serum (N=5), EDTA plasma (N=5), and heparin plasma (N=5).
