Quantitative detection of mouse ALDH9A1 in research specimens is provided by this ELISA from Assay Genie, intended for in vitro applications. The ALDH9A1 enzyme catalyzes the NAD+-dependent oxidation of gamma-trimethylaminobutyraldehyde to gamma-butyrobetaine, a key intermediate in the carnitine biosynthesis pathway, and participates in cellular detoxification of aldehydes generated during oxidative metabolism and lipid peroxidation.
This kit supports studies in hepatic and renal aldehyde handling, neural aldehyde clearance in neurodegeneration models, and altered carnitine homeostasis. Serum samples, plasma samples, and clarified tissue homogenates prepared in standard lysis buffer are compatible matrices. Reagents should be stored refrigerated; the lyophilized standard is best kept frozen at -20°C in single-use aliquots to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
The assay is restricted to research use only and is not approved for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Components are packaged in individual vials to support flexible plate setup, and the chromogenic endpoint enables readout on a standard microplate reader.
