The double-antibody sandwich format uses colorimetric readout and the target is also known by the synonyms ALADH and porphobilinogen synthase.

Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The kit reports a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL and an assay range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL. Across 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions, linearity is 95-104% in serum, 86-101% in EDTA plasma and 82-94% in heparin plasma, while average recoveries are 91% (serum), 96% (EDTA plasma) and 94% (heparin plasma).

The protocol comprises a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, a 60-minute biotinylated detection antibody step, a 30-minute HRP-Streptavidin binding step, and TMB substrate development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, followed by stop solution and absorbance measurement at 450 nm. Kit components are stored at 2-8°C and remain stable for 12 months.
