Mouse Akr1c6/Estradiol 17 beta-dehydrogenase 5 ELISA Kit

Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative determination of mouse Estradiol 17 beta-dehydrogenase 5 (Akr1c6; synonyms include Hsd17b5 and 17-beta-HSD 5), reactive in mouse samples and based on a colorimetric detection workflow. The assay is calibrated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and detects both natural and recombinant forms of the target.

Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.089 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 7.4% and inter-assay CV is 9.6%. Linearity has been demonstrated at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum (105-115%, 97-106%, 89-98% and 99-110% respectively), EDTA plasma (98-107%, 100-109%, 85-95% and 97-107%) and heparin plasma (91-100%, 106-116%, 89-100% and 85-95%). Recovery averages 105% (range 99-111%) in serum and 107% (range 101-113%) in plasma. The associated UniProt entry is P70694.

Akr1c6 is active toward androgens, estrogens and xenobiotic substrates, exhibits low 20 alpha-HSD activity and shows A-stereospecificity in hydrogen transfer between cofactors and substrates. It preferentially catalyses the reduction of 4-androstenedione, 5-alpha-androstane-3,17-dione, androsterone and dehydroepiandrosterone. For research use only.
