Mouse Agouti-related protein (Agrp) ELISA Kit

A colorimetric sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Agouti-related protein (AGRP). The assay is intended for use with mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, and is for research use only.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.031–2 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.0155 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 6.2% and an inter-assay CV of 7.7%. Linearity was verified in serum (96–106% at 1:2 down to 91–101% at 1:16), EDTA plasma (97–110% down to 87–96%), and heparin plasma (109–118% down to 97–110%). Recovery averaged 105% for serum (range 99–111%) and 107% for plasma (range 101–113%).

The assay specifically detects natural and recombinant mouse AGRP (UniProt P56473), a secreted protein with a molecular weight of 14,432 Da expressed in the arcuate nucleus, median eminence, adrenal gland, hypothalamus, testis, and lung that plays a role in weight homeostasis and feeding behavior through the central melanocortin system.
