Adiponectin (ADPN), the 30 kDa adipocyte-derived hormone also known as Acrp30, AdipoQ, apM1, or GBP-28, is a central marker of metabolic health in murine research. The Mouse ADPN competitive ELISA from Assay Genie provides quantitative measurement of this adipokine in serum and cell culture supernatants, supporting studies of insulin sensitivity, glucose homeostasis, obesity, type 2 diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and cardiovascular dysfunction. Because adiponectin circulates as trimers, hexamers, and high-molecular-weight multimers, profiling its levels helps researchers track adipokine signaling, PPAR-γ activation, and adipose-tissue cross-talk with liver and muscle.

Each Mouse ADPN PharmaGenie kit is supplied in a 96-assay format, allowing mid-throughput screening of rodent cohorts or conditioned media from in vitro adipocyte and hepatocyte experiments. The assay follows a competitive binding scheme in which endogenous mouse adiponectin competes with reference antigen bound to the plate for a specific antibody. Kit components include the pre-coated microplate, detection antibody, calibrated standards, and the buffers required to generate a standard curve and quantify unknowns.

Assay Genie's PharmaGenie range is intended for research use only. To preserve adiponectin integrity in serum samples, aliquot immediately upon collection and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles; samples and kit reagents should be handled according to the supplied protocol. The Mouse ADPN kit integrates into broader endocrine, metabolic, and inflammation panels, complementing assays for leptin, resistin, and inflammatory cytokines in rodent disease models.
