Adenosine kinase (ADK) is a cytoplasmic phosphotransferase that regulates intracellular adenosine pools by phosphorylating adenosine to AMP, making it a focal enzyme in studies of purine salvage, neurotransmission, and metabolic regulation. The mouse-specific quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie quantifies ADK protein in tissue homogenates from rodent models and supports neuroscience, hepatic, and ischemia research workflows.
Configured for 96 individual determinations, the plate uses an absorbance-based readout. A reference standard is included for generating the standard curve, and results are reported as ADK concentration per sample. Researchers evaluating adenosine pathway involvement in mouse models of epilepsy, sleep regulation, alcoholic liver disease, or stroke frequently use ADK quantification alongside activity assays.
Sample preparation typically involves homogenization in an appropriate lysis buffer, clarification by centrifugation, and assay of the supernatant. The kit is supplied with pre-coated wells, detection reagents, standards, and buffer sufficient for the stated number of wells. For research use only; not intended for diagnostic applications.
