Description

A solid-phase sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie enables quantitative detection of mouse Acylamino-acid-releasing enzyme (Apeh) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric readout.

Reported performance specifications include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.162 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.8% and an inter-assay CV of 9.3%. The kit detects natural and recombinant mouse Acylamino-acid-releasing enzyme, also known by the synonyms Acyl-peptide hydrolase, Acylaminoacyl-peptidase, APH and AARE. Recovery in serum is reported at an average of 92% (range 86–98%) and in plasma at an average of 94% (range 88–100%).

Apeh is a homotetrameric cytoplasmic protein that catalyses the hydrolysis of the N-terminal peptide bond of N-acetylated peptides, preferentially cleaving Ac-Ala, Ac-Met and Ac-Ser. Dysregulation of the enzyme has been linked to cancer, neurodegenerative disorders and metabolic disorders, placing it within the epigenetics research area. The kit is supplied for research use only and is stored at –20 °C.
