Activated Leukocyte Cell Adhesion Molecule (ALCAM/CD166) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, mediating both homophilic and heterophilic cell-cell adhesion across immune, neural, and epithelial contexts. This mouse-specific quantitation tool from Assay Genie enables researchers studying immunology, oncology, and developmental biology to measure endogenous ALCAM levels in a variety of biological specimens collected from murine models.
Investigations supported by this kit include tracking ALCAM expression during T-cell activation and leukocyte trafficking, evaluating its role in tumor cell migration and metastatic dissemination, and characterizing hematopoietic stem cell interactions within the bone marrow niche. The reagent set is intended for research use only and pairs with a standard microplate reader, supporting workflows in academic and pharmaceutical laboratories investigating inflammation, angiogenesis, and neurodevelopment.
