Description

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of mitochondrial aconitate hydratase (ACO2) in mouse samples. ACO2 is a key enzyme of the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle that catalyzes the isomerization of citrate to isocitrate via cis-aconitate, playing a critical role in mitochondrial energy production. Dysregulation of ACO2 has been linked to various metabolic disorders and diseases, making it a valuable biomarker for research into these conditions.

The assay is validated for use with mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.162 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.0%, and an inter-assay CV of 8.5%. Linearity has been confirmed across serial dilutions in serum (89–116%), EDTA plasma (96–119%) and heparin plasma (83–117%). Recovery is reported at an average of 98% (range 92–104%) for serum and an average of 100% (range 94–106%) for plasma. The assay specifically recognises natural and recombinant mouse mitochondrial aconitate hydratase, a monomeric protein localised in mitochondria (UniProt Q99KI0, NCBI Gene ID 11429, molecular weight 85,464 Da). Synonyms include citrate hydro-lyase and aconitase. For research use only.
