Mouse Acidic mammalian chitinase (Chia) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Acidic mammalian chitinase (CHIA), also known by the synonyms YNL, AMCase, and Chia1. The assay is reactive with mouse samples and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.086ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.4% and inter-assay CV is 9.2%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across multiple dilutions. Recovery averages 91% (range 85-97%) in serum and 93% (range 87-99%) in plasma. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Acidic mammalian chitinase.

CHIA is a secreted chitinase that degrades chitin and chitotriose, may participate in defense against nematodes, fungi and other pathogens, and plays a role in the T-helper cell type 2 (Th2) immune response and IL-13-mediated inflammation. The protein is detected in secretory granules of parotid acinar cells and gastric chief cells, and is secreted into saliva and gastric juice. Monitoring CHIA can contribute to research into diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and cancer. The kit is for research use only.
