Mouse 5-LO/Arachidonate 5-Lipoxygenase ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit, built on a double-antibody format, is designed for the quantitative detection of mouse 5-LO/Arachidonate 5-Lipoxygenase. It is reactive with mouse samples and validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, employing a colorimetric detection method.

The kit is intended for storage at 2-8°C for 12 months. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilution factors of 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8, while recovery has been reported at 85-97% (average 92%) in serum, 86-105% (average 96%) in EDTA plasma, and 86-100% (average 94%) in heparin plasma. The procedure involves a 90 minute primary incubation at 37°C, followed by biotin-labelled detection antibody binding, HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) incubation, TMB colour development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm.

5-LO is an enzyme crucial for the synthesis of leukotrienes, which are lipid mediators involved in inflammation and allergic reactions, and its dysregulation has been implicated in various inflammatory conditions. The kit is therefore positioned as a tool for metabolism research into inflammation and related therapeutic strategies.
