Description
This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is intended for the quantitative measurement of mouse 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1B (HTR1B) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric detection format. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant mouse HTR1B, with the target also known as serotonin receptor 1B, 5-HT-1B and 5ht1b.
Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.163 ng/mL. Precision is given as intra-assay CV 8.5% and inter-assay CV 10.0%. Linearity was assessed at dilution factors of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, reporting 102–112%, 101–112%, 87–97% and 108–117% for serum; 102–112%, 103–113%, 111–121% and 99–110% for EDTA plasma; and 107–117%, 94–104%, 85–98% and 107–116% for heparin plasma. Mean recovery is 94% (range 88–100%) in serum and 96% (range 90–102%) in plasma.
HTR1B is a G-protein coupled receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) that signals via G proteins to inhibit adenylate cyclase, regulating release of serotonin, dopamine and acetylcholine in the brain and influencing mood, behavior, neural activity and pain perception, while also contributing to vasoconstriction of cerebral arteries. The receptor is encoded by Htr1b (UniProt P28334) and has been implicated in disorders such as depression, anxiety and substance abuse. For research use only.
