Mouse 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase (Hmgcr) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase (HMGCR), also known as HMG-CoA reductase. The kit reacts with mouse samples and detects natural and recombinant mouse HMGCR in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Reported assay performance includes a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.393ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is 4.6% and inter-assay precision is 7.4%. Recovery in serum is 94% (range 88-100%) and in plasma is 96% (range 90-102%). Linearity has been demonstrated across serial dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples.

HMGCR is a transmembrane glycoprotein that serves as the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis and in the production of nonsterol isoprenoids such as ubiquinone and geranylgeranyl proteins. The protein localises to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane as a multi-pass membrane protein and the kit is intended for cardiovascular research. It is for research use only.
