Description

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the reliable detection of mouse 2'-5'-oligoadenylate synthase 1A (OAS1A) in mouse samples. The assay is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, with a colorimetric detection method and specificity for both natural and recombinant mouse 2'-5'-oligoadenylate synthase 1A.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/ml, a sensitivity of 0.159ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.6% and an inter-assay CV of 7.1%. Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (N=5) across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery was 91% (range 85-97%) for serum and 93% (range 87-99%) for plasma. The associated UniProt entry is P11928.

OAS1A, also known as p42 OAS, (2-5')oligo(A) synthase 1A or Oias1, is an interferon-induced, dsRNA-activated antiviral enzyme that plays a critical role in the cellular innate antiviral response. It synthesizes higher oligomers of 2'-5'-oligoadenylates (2-5A) from ATP, which bind to and activate ribonuclease L (RNase L), leading to degradation of viral and cellular RNA and termination of viral replication. The protein can also mediate antiviral effects via an alternative RNase L-independent pathway. It exists as a monomer or homotetramer and is localized to the cytoplasm, mitochondrion, nucleus, microsome and endoplasmic reticulum. For research use only.
