Mouse 1-phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate phosphodiesterase beta-1 (Plcb1) ELISA Kit

A colorimetric sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse 1-phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate phosphodiesterase beta-1 (PLCB1), also referred to as PLC-154, phosphoinositide phospholipase C-beta-1, phospholipase C-beta-1, PLC-beta-1 and Plcb. The kit is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, shows reactivity with mouse samples, and recognises both natural and recombinant forms of the target.

PLCB1 is a phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C that catalyses the formation of the second messengers inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3) and diacylglycerol (DAG) from phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate. It binds calmodulin and uses calcium as a cofactor, playing an important role in the intracellular transduction of many extracellular signals. Dysregulation of PLCB1 has been linked to cancer, neurological disorders and immune system dysfunction, making it a useful biomarker for cardiovascular research and for studies of phosphoinositide signalling.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the assay covers a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.16 ng/mL, and corresponds to UniProt entry Q9Z1B3. For research use only.
