Synaptophysin (SYP) is a 38 kDa integral membrane glycoprotein localized to the presynaptic vesicle membrane, widely used as a quantitative marker of synaptic density and neuronal terminal integrity in translational neuroscience. Assay Genie provides this quantitative immunoassay kit configured for non-human primate samples, supporting studies of synaptic loss in Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's-related pathology, and aging NHP models.

The kit is a complete reagent set for 96 determinations, intended for research use only in blood fractions and tissue-derived preparations from cynomolgus or rhesus macaque specimens. Researchers employ this kit alongside immunohistochemistry and western blot workflows, pairing quantitative readouts with histological mapping of synaptic vesicle populations in cortical and hippocampal regions.

Each kit contains pre-coated plate wells, matched antibody reagents, calibrators, and substrate solution sufficient for 96 assays. The assay detects endogenous SYP protein, enabling longitudinal monitoring of synaptic biomarker changes in primate cohorts receiving experimental neuroprotective or disease-modifying interventions.
