Cross-linked N-telopeptide of type I collagen (NTX-I) is a well-characterized biochemical marker of osteoclast-driven bone resorption, released into circulation as type I collagen in the bone matrix is degraded during skeletal remodeling. This immunoassay from Assay Genie delivers quantitative measurement of NTX-I in non-human primate samples, supporting research into bone metabolism, age-related skeletal decline, and interventions aimed at preserving bone mineral density in monkey models.
The kit provides reagents for 96 individual determinations and is configured for use with serum specimens collected during preclinical studies of osteoporosis, glucocorticoid-induced bone loss, periodontal disease, or microgravity-associated skeletal effects. Type I collagen constitutes approximately 90% of the organic bone matrix, making NTX-I fragments a sensitive indicator of remodeling activity. Components should be stored refrigerated upon arrival, and the kit is intended for research use only in laboratory settings.
