Quantitative immunoassay for measuring Lipocalin 2 (LCN2) levels in non-human primate biological samples. Lipocalin 2, also referred to as NGAL (Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin), is a 25 kDa secreted glycoprotein of the lipocalin superfamily that binds iron-loaded siderophores and small lipophilic ligands. The protein is induced during epithelial injury and systemic inflammation, rising rapidly in circulation and urine after acute kidney insult, making it a widely used translational biomarker in renal, inflammatory, and metabolic disease research.

This Assay Genie kit is configured for use with cynomolgus and rhesus macaque samples and supports a microplate workflow optimized for primate translational studies. Typical applications include preclinical drug-safety assessment of nephrotoxicity, evaluation of inflammatory responses in vaccine and infectious-disease models, investigation of obesity- and diabetes-associated metabolic dysfunction, and longitudinal monitoring of acute-phase reactants in colony health surveillance. Reagents are supplied in a 96-assay configuration suitable for medium-throughput screening of cohort samples.

The assay enables research laboratories to track LCN2 dynamics across intervention arms, correlate circulating concentrations with histopathological endpoints, and benchmark findings against human clinical data. Researchers should refer to the supplied protocol for species-specific validation data, recommended sample dilution factors, and assay performance characteristics prior to running large study sets.
