MMP-9 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's Cell-Based ELISA kit is designed for the qualitative colorimetric measurement of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) protein expression in cells. It is supplied in a 96-Well Microplate format and uses an indirect ELISA configuration in which MMP-9-specific primary antibodies capture the target while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction at 450 nm following substrate addition.

The protocol is described as lysate-free and high-throughput, and is intended for adherent cell culture. It is used to measure relative MMP-9 amounts in cultured cells and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators. An anti-GAPDH monoclonal antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalization, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining can be used to determine cell density so that absorbance values can be normalized to cell amounts.
