MMP-1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

A cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the precise measurement of MMP-1 levels in cell culture supernatants and tissue homogenates, with reactivity for human samples. The in-cell ELISA uses a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm in an indirect ELISA format, where MMP-1-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody. The kit is suited to adherent cells and has a dynamic range of > 5000 cells.

A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control to normalize target absorbance values. Following colorimetric measurement of HRP activity via substrate addition, the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density, allowing absorbance values to be normalized to cell amounts. The kit supports measurement of relative MMP-1 amounts in cultured cells and screening for the effects of various treatments, inhibitors, or activators. Storage is at 4°C with 6 months stability.
