mGluR6 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

A cell-based ELISA from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of mGluR6 (metabotropic glutamate receptor 6) protein expression in cultured cells using an indirect, lysate-free colorimetric format read at 450 nm. The assay is validated for human mGluR6 and adherent cells, with a dynamic range above 5,000 cells. It can be applied to measure relative mGluR6 levels under basal conditions or following treatment with inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, as well as activators, supporting pathway and drug-target studies. Normalization is achieved through an included anti-GAPDH monoclonal antibody and an optional Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step to correct for differences in cell density. The kit is supplied in a microplate format with storage at 4°C and a shelf life of 6 months. mGluR6 is a G-protein coupled receptor for glutamate, encoded by the GRM6 gene (UniProt ID O15303), and plays a key role in retinal signaling, with defects linked to congenital stationary night blindness type 1B.
