Merlin Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

A colorimetric cell-based ELISA from Assay Genie provides detection of Merlin (NF2) protein expression in adherent cell cultures without the need for lysate preparation. The assay uses a 96-well microplate format with absorbance readout at 450 nm and is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples. Operating as a high-throughput, sensitive method, it captures Merlin through target-specific primary antibodies in an indirect ELISA format, with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies generating the colorimetric signal upon substrate addition.

The kit supports both relative quantification in cultured cells and screening for the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on Merlin levels. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values. After colorimetric measurement of HRP activity, the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density, allowing absorbance values to be normalized to cell amounts and plating differences to be adjusted.

The assay has a dynamic range of > 5000 cells, and the kit is stable at 4°C for 6 months.
