Melatonin (MT) ELISA Kit

A competitive ELISA Kit from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of Melatonin (MT, also known as N-Acetyl-5-Methoxytryptamine). The colorimetric assay is rated for universal reactivity and is suitable for serum, plasma, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, cell culture supernatants, cell lysates, tissue homogenates, tissue lysates, and breast milk. Melatonin is a key hormone regulating the sleep-wake cycle and circadian rhythms, recognised for its antioxidant properties, contribution to immune function, and relevance to research in sleep disorders, mental health, and aging-related disease.

The assay covers a measurement range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 6.5 pg/mL. Reported recovery ranges are 80-102% for serum (average 91%), 81-99% for EDTA plasma (average 90%), and 80-89% for heparin plasma (average 84%). Linearity in serum spans 82-96% at 1:2 dilution, 83-98% at 1:4, 81-99% at 1:8, and 93-101% at 1:16. Intra-assay precision is reported as CV <10% and inter-assay precision as CV <12%. Stability testing shows less than 5% activity loss within the stated shelf life of 12 months under appropriate storage conditions.
