MEL (Melamine) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie MEL (Melamine) ELISA Kit is a competitive immunoassay for the quantitative detection of melamine contamination in food matrices, including milk powder, liver tissue, eggs, and serum. It is used in food safety laboratories, dairy quality control programs, and regulatory screening operations, providing rapid screening of melamine adulteration without instrumentation beyond a standard microplate reader.

The assay uses a colorimetric readout. Standards and extracted samples are added to pre-coated wells, incubated with specific antibodies, and absorbance is measured. A sample volume of 50 uL per well is required, with melamine concentration calculated from a standard curve generated alongside samples.

Cross-reactivity testing demonstrates minimal interference from related triazine compounds such as cyanuric acid, ammeline, and ammelide, supporting reliable detection of melamine in complex food matrices.

Store unopened kit components refrigerated at 2-8°C; do not freeze. Shelf life is approximately 6 months from the date of manufacture when stored as recommended. Each kit contains a pre-coated 96-well plate, melamine standards, specific antibody, HRP conjugate, substrate solution, and stop reagent sufficient for the complete assay.
