MCL1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the accurate detection of MCL1 levels in cell lysates and tissue homogenates, providing a high-throughput, lysate-free workflow for measuring relative MCL1 protein expression in cultured cells. Detection is achieved through an indirect ELISA format in which MCL1 is captured by MCL1-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of those primaries, catalysing a colorimetric reaction read at 450 nm.

The kit is suited to screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on MCL1. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step can be used to determine cell density for further normalisation. Reactive with Human, Mouse and Rat samples, the assay has a stated dynamic range of > 5000 Cells and is supplied in a 96-Well Microplate format with recommended storage at 4°C for 6 Months.

MCL1 is a member of the Bcl-2 family and a critical regulator of cell survival and apoptosis; its dysregulation has been implicated in cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, making it a relevant biomarker for cell death research.
