Description

A colorimetric cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the qualitative detection of the MAT1 protein in cultured cells. The kit uses an indirect ELISA format: MAT1 is captured by MAT1-specific primary antibodies, while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, allowing the conjugated HRP to catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. Described as a convenient, lysate-free, high-throughput, and sensitive assay, the kit can be used for measuring relative MAT1 levels in cultured cells and for screening the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on MAT1.

Suitable for adherent cells, the kit demonstrates reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples and supports applications in cell biology, drug discovery, and disease research, including studies of protein-protein interactions, signal transduction pathways, and drug efficacy. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included to serve as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values. Following the colorimetric measurement of HRP activity via substrate addition, the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density, with results normalized to cell amounts to adjust for plating differences.

Key specifications include a dynamic range of greater than 5000 cells and detection at 450 nm. The kit is stored at 4°C with a stated stability of 6 months.
