MAPKAPK5 (Phospho-Thr182)Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit enables quantitative detection of phosphorylated MAPKAPK5 at threonine 182 in cell lysates using a colorimetric readout measured at 450 nm. The assay uses an indirect ELISA approach: a phospho-specific primary antibody captures the target and an HRP-conjugated secondary antibody catalyses the substrate reaction. A monoclonal anti-human GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell stain can be used to normalise absorbance values to cell density.

The kit is reactive with human and mouse samples, with a stated dynamic range of > 5000 cells. MAPKAPK5 is a serine/threonine kinase in the MAPKAPK family that functions as a tumour suppressor and is activated by phosphorylation through ERK, p38-alpha and p38-beta in response to cellular stress and proinflammatory cytokines. Because phosphorylation at Thr182 governs MAPKAPK5 activity, the kit is suited to studies of intracellular signalling in disease processes such as cancer, inflammation and metabolic disorders.
