Description

From Assay Genie, this Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit is designed for the accurate measurement of MAPKAPK2 (MAP kinase-activated protein kinase 2) levels in cell lysates and tissue samples. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which the target is captured by MAPKAPK2-specific primary antibodies and detected with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies, producing a colorimetric signal readable at 450 nm. It is described as a convenient, lysate-free, high-throughput and sensitive assay for measuring relative MAPKAPK2 amounts in cultured cells and for screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors or activators on MAPKAPK2 expression.

MAPKAPK2 is a Ser/Thr protein kinase of the MAPKAPK family, phosphorylated and activated by p38 MAP kinase in response to cytokines, stress and chemotactic factors, and is involved in stress and inflammatory responses, gene expression regulation and cell proliferation. The kit shows reactivity with human, mouse and rat samples and is provided in a microplate format with a stated dynamic range of more than 5000 cells. An anti-GAPDH monoclonal antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining may be used after the colorimetric read-out to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences. The kit is suitable for use with adherent cells, is stored at 4 °C with a stated stability of 6 months, and is intended for research in Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling.
