Description

A cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie enables qualitative detection of MAP3K7 protein expression directly in cultured cells, without the need for lysate preparation. The assay uses a colorimetric readout at 450 nm and has been validated for human, mouse, and rat reactivity. It is supplied in a 96-well microplate format with a dynamic range of > 5000 cells and is stable at 4°C for 6 months.

The kit uses an indirect ELISA approach in which MAP3K7 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody to catalyse a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. It can be used for measuring relative MAP3K7 levels in cultured cells and for screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control to normalise target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining can be used to determine cell density for further normalisation.

MAP3K7, also known as TAK1, is a serine/threonine kinase of the MLK family that mediates TGF-beta and BMP signal transduction and is required for activation of NF-kappaB signalling. Associated database identifiers include Gene ID 6885 and UniProt ID O43318.
