Mammaglobin Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

A cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed to detect mammaglobin protein expression in cultured cells. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method at 450 nm in a 96-well microplate format, with a dynamic range of > 5000 cells and reactivity against human and rat samples. Storage is at 4°C for 6 months.

Working through an indirect ELISA format, mammaglobin is captured by mammaglobin-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, catalysing a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. The kit is lysate-free and high-throughput, suitable for measuring the relative amounts of mammaglobin in cultured cells and for screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators. As the assay is qualitative, a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method can be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences. Mammaglobin (SCGB2A2) is commonly used as a marker for breast cancer, and the kit supports research into breast cancer diagnostics and treatment using adherent cell samples.
