LysoBrite, Deep Red, 500tests

This cell-permeable fluorescent probe from STEMCELL Technologies selectively labels acidic lysosomal compartments in live cells, accumulating inside lysosomes where the low pH environment drives bright, punctate staining within minutes of addition. The Deep Red variant is excited at approximately 640 nm and emits near 660 nm, placing its signal comfortably beyond the spectrum of GFP, FITC, and PE fluorophores commonly used in the same experiment.

Supplied as a single vial supporting approximately 500 tests, LysoBrite Deep Red fits routine workflows in cell biology, immunology, neuroscience, and cancer research laboratories. Typical applications include tracking lysosome positioning during autophagy studies, monitoring phagolysosomal maturation in phagocytosis assays, and colocalization imaging against mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, or nuclear counterstains. The far-red emission profile also makes the probe compatible with multi-color flow cytometry panels.

For best results, store the reagent frozen at -20 °C, protected from light, and aliquot upon first use to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Working dilutions are prepared in pre-warmed culture medium and applied directly to adherent or suspension cells, followed by incubation at 37 °C and imaging without washing when background permits. The deep red detection window preserves clean separation from DAPI, Alexa Fluor 488, and R-phycoerythrin channels in multiplex panels.
