Description

A high-quality Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of LMX1B levels in cell lysates, serum, and other biological samples. The kit offers a convenient, lysate-free, high-throughput workflow for detecting the LMX1B protein expression profile in cultured cells, and can be used to measure relative LMX1B amounts or to screen the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators.

Detection is achieved by an indirect ELISA format in which LMX1B is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected via HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition, read at 450 nm. The assay is reactive with Human and Mouse samples and has a stated dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. Storage is at 4°C with a stability of 6 Months. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method is provided for determining cell density after the colorimetric measurement.

LMX1B is a LIM-homeodomain transcription factor essential for the normal development of dorsal limb structures, the glomerular basement membrane, the anterior segment of the eye, and dopaminergic and serotonergic neurons, and defects in LMX1B are associated with nail-patella syndrome.
