Kir6.2 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides this Cell-Based ELISA Kit for the detection of Kir6.2 (gene symbol KCNJ11) protein levels in cultured cells. The assay uses a colorimetric, indirect ELISA format in which Kir6.2 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody. HRP enzymatic activity is then measured colorimetrically at 450 nm following substrate addition.

The kit is reactive with Human and Mouse samples and is suitable for adherent cells. Its stated dynamic range is greater than 5000 cells. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and following the colorimetric measurement, the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density so that absorbance values can be normalised to cell amounts.

Designed for the qualitative, relative measurement of Kir6.2 in cultured cells, the kit can also be used to screen for the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on Kir6.2. Storage is at 4 °C with a stated stability of 6 months.
