JunB Transcription Factor Activity Assay

Beyond standard immunoassay readouts, the Assay Genie JunB Transcription Factor Activity Assay measures functional DNA-binding activity of the JunB transcription factor rather than total protein abundance. Wells are pre-coated with a double-stranded oligonucleotide carrying the JunB/AP-1 consensus response element (TRE); activated JunB in nuclear or whole-cell lysate binds this sequence and is then detected with a JunB-specific antibody and a colorimetric substrate.

The kit is validated for human, mouse, and rat samples, with no significant cross-reactivity against the closely related AP-1 family members c-Jun and JunD. Each pack provides a precoated microplate, detection antibody, standards, and buffers sufficient for 96 reactions, using a sample volume of 10 uL of nuclear extract per well. Typical applications include AP-1 signaling studies, examination of cellular differentiation and stress responses, and oncology research, and the assay is for research use only.
