Description

A cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the sensitive detection of JIP2 protein levels in cell lysates. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm and is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples. It is intended for adherent cells in a lysate-free workflow suitable for high-throughput applications.

JIP2 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies binding the Fc region of the primary antibody to catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining can be used to determine cell density. The dynamic range is greater than 5000 cells.

JIP2, also known as JNK-interacting protein 2 (gene MAPK8IP2, UniProt Q13387), is a scaffold protein that selectively mediates JNK signaling by aggregating components of the MAPK cascade. It has been described as a regulator of apoptosis, cell migration, and cytoskeleton organization, with dysregulation linked to cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and inflammatory conditions. The kit is stored at 4°C with a stated stability of 6 months.
