Description

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA kit is designed for the precise measurement of phosphorylated IRS-1 levels in cell lysates. The kit targets IRS-1 (Phospho-Ser1101) and is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, making it relevant to research on the insulin signaling pathway, where phosphorylation of IRS-1 at serine 1101 plays a part in insulin resistance and related metabolic conditions.

The assay uses an indirect ELISA format with a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm and a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. It is a lysate-free, high-throughput approach suitable for measuring relative levels of phosphorylated IRS-1 in cultured cells and for screening the effects of various treatments, inhibitors, or activators on IRS-1 phosphorylation. The catalogue lists adherent cells as the sample type.

For data normalization, the kit includes a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH that serves as an internal positive control. After the colorimetric measurement of HRP activity via substrate addition, a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density, allowing absorbance values to be normalized to cell amounts and correcting for plating differences.
