IRS-1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a Cell-Based ELISA Kit developed for the accurate measurement of IRS-1 levels in cell culture samples. The kit targets insulin receptor substrate 1, a key adaptor protein in insulin signaling that regulates glucose metabolism and cell growth, and is relevant to research on insulin resistance, type II diabetes, and related metabolic disorders. It is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, and is intended for use with adherent cells.

The assay is lysate-free, high-throughput, and sensitive, using an indirect ELISA format in which IRS-1 is captured by specific primary antibodies and detected by HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction measured at 450 nm. The kit supports a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells and is provided in a 96-Well Microplate format for storage at 4 °C with 6 Months stability. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control to normalize target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method is provided for determining cell density, allowing further correction for plating differences between wells.

The qualitative assay is designed to measure relative IRS-1 protein expression in cultured cells and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), and activators on IRS-1 levels.
