Description

Assay Genie's cell-based ELISA kit provides a high-throughput, lysate-free approach for detecting IRF2 protein expression in cultured cells. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which IRF2-specific primary antibodies are captured and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, catalysing a colour change upon substrate addition for qualitative measurement of IRF2.

Reactivity is established for human, mouse and rat samples, with a colourimetric readout at 450 nm and a dynamic range of > 5000 cells. Storage is at 4 °C with a stated stability of 6 months. The kit supports investigation of treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, and activators, and is intended for use with adherent cell samples. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance, while Crystal Violet whole-cell staining may be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences.

The target, IRF2 (Interferon Regulatory Factor 2), is a transcription factor involved in immune response and cell development, with dysregulation linked to autoimmune disorders and cancer. Database identifiers cited in the product information include Gene ID 3660 and UniProt ID P14316. The kit is positioned within the Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling research area.
