Description

Assay Genie's cell-based ELISA kit enables qualitative detection of phosphorylated IRF-3 at Serine 386 in cultured cells, supporting research into innate immune signalling and viral immunity. The colorimetric, lysate-free assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which IRF-3 (Phospho-Ser386) is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. It is designed for adherent cell samples, with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells and absorbance read at 450 nm. The kit can be used to measure the relative amounts of phosphorylated IRF-3 in cultured cells and to screen the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on IRF-3 phosphorylation.

IRF-3 (Interferon Regulatory Factor 3) is a transcription factor of the interferon regulatory factor family that plays a critical role in the innate immune response to viral infections; phosphorylation at Serine 386 is a key post-translational modification regulating its activity and downstream signalling. Reactivity is human, and the research area is immunology. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control to normalise target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining is provided so that cell density can be determined and plating differences adjusted. Relevant database identifiers: Gene ID 3661 and UniProt ID Q14653.
