Description

Researchers studying cell adhesion and signaling can use this Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie to detect Integrin beta1 protein expression in cultured cells. The assay follows an indirect ELISA format in which Integrin beta1 is captured by Integrin beta1-specific primary antibodies, which are then bound at the Fc region by HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies. Upon substrate addition, the conjugated HRP catalyses a colour reaction measured at 450 nm. The kit is intended for adherent cell samples and provides a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells within a lysate-free, high-throughput workflow.

The kit can be used to measure relative Integrin beta1 levels in cultured cells and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators. Reactivity has been established for human, mouse, and rat samples. Two normalization methods are incorporated: a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH serves as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance, and the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method is used after the HRP colour reaction to determine cell density and correct for plating differences.

Integrin beta1 (gene symbol ITGB1; Gene ID 3688; UniProt ID P05556; OMIM 135630) is an integral membrane protein that contributes to cell migration, growth, and differentiation, and its dysregulation has been implicated in cancer, inflammatory disorders, and fibrosis. The kit is stored at 4 °C with a stability of 6 Months.
