Infliximab (Remsima®) ELISA Kit

This colorimetric ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative determination of free Infliximab (Remsima®) in serum and plasma samples. The assay is a solid phase sandwich ELISA. Standards and samples are incubated in microtitre plate wells coated with the reactant for the infliximab biosimilar (Remsima®). After incubation and washing, a horse radish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated probe is added and binds to the captured infliximab. Bound enzymatic activity is detected by addition of a chromogen substrate, with colour development proportional to the amount of infliximab in the sample or standard. The required sample volume is 10 µL, the total assay time is 70 min and the shelf life is 1 year. Reported performance includes a detection limit of 100 ng/mL and a spike recovery of 85-115%. Standards cover a range of 3; 1; 0.3; 0.1; 0 microgram/mL. Optical density is measured with a photometer at 450/650 nm, with the colour change progressing from blue to yellow.

Remsima® is described in the kit documentation as a TNF alpha antagonist used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, ulcerative colitis, adult Crohn's disease, plaque psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. The documentation also notes that the CHMP has decided that Remsima® shows a comparable quality, safety and efficacy profile to Remicade®.
