ICAM-1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

This human ICAM-1 (Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-1) colorimetric cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive assay designed to detect ICAM-1 protein expression profiles in cells. It uses an indirect ELISA format in which ICAM-1 is captured by ICAM-1-specific primary antibodies, while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, allowing the conjugated HRP to catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. The kit is intended for measuring relative amounts of ICAM-1 in cultured adherent cells, and for screening the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on ICAM-1.

The assay has a dynamic range of > 5000 cells with detection read at 450 nm, and is supplied in a 96-well microplate format with recommended storage at 4°C and a stated stability of 6 months. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included to serve as an internal positive control in normalizing the target absorbance values, and following the colorimetric HRP measurement, the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density so that absorbance values can be normalized to cell amounts.
