STEMCELL Technologies supplies this Hyaluronidase preparation at 300,000 units per vial, a research-grade enzyme applied to cell culture and tissue dissociation workflows. The enzyme cleaves the β-1,4 glycosidic linkage in hyaluronic acid, lowering the viscosity of the extracellular matrix and helping to release cells embedded within dense connective tissue, tumor specimens, lung parenchyma, and intestinal mucosa.
It is typically combined with collagenase and DNase I during enzymatic digestion to produce single-cell suspensions used in flow cytometry, primary cell isolation, and organoid culture. Labs working with cancer spheroids, fibrotic biopsies, or stromal-rich samples rely on hyaluronidase to break down the glycosaminoglycan barrier that would otherwise limit cell yield and viability.
For best activity, the lyophilized powder is reconstituted in PBS or HBSS and stored at -20°C; aliquots remain stable through several freeze-thaw cycles. Working concentrations commonly fall between 0.1 and 1 mg/mL, with incubation at 37°C for 30 to 60 minutes depending on tissue density. Each vial provides sufficient enzymatic activity for multiple dissociation reactions, making it a practical choice for laboratories processing diverse sample types across sequential research projects.
