Description

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of human Zinc finger matrin-type protein 3 (ZMAT3), which is also known as Zinc finger protein WIG-1, p53-activated gene 608 protein, PAG608 and WIG1. The assay is reactive with human samples and validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is given as 3.9% CV and inter-assay precision as 7.6% CV. Linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 is reported as follows: serum (N=5) 90–100%, 106–116%, 113–125%, 97–107%; EDTA plasma (N=5) 94–106%, 110–120%, 97–106%, 95–105%; heparin plasma (N=5) 109–119%, 113–113%, 104–114%, 95–105%. Recovery is reported at an average of 82% (range 80–88%) for serum and 84% (range 80–90%) for plasma. The kit specifically detects natural and recombinant human ZMAT3.

ZMAT3 is described as a bona fide target gene of p53/TP53 with potential roles in the TP53-dependent growth regulatory pathway and TP53-mediated apoptosis, including regulation of TP53 expression and its translocation to the nucleus and nucleolus. The protein contains three zinc finger domains and a nuclear localisation signal and is localised to the nucleus and nucleolus; its overexpression has been linked to inhibition of tumour cell growth. Listed research applications include cancer.
